Stud Muffin.

In case you haven't heard, I adore this man.
Yes, I adore Barry Manilow. And yes, I realize he's wearing crushed red velvet. And yes, I realize his nose and haircut make him look like a baby bird. And yes, I realize he's gay. But I actually didn't know that until my friends told me at 23 years of age. I was shocked. It just never occurred to me. And I don't know why.

Your friends are wrong about Barry being gay, and there are a lot of pictures of Barry that are available that are much more flattering than this one.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, but Barry's a gay. I said it to you 8 years ago, and I'll say it to you again. Some may pretend that because he was once married to his high school sweetheart (girl), that it proved his orientation. To that, I say: Elton John was married to a woman for 4 years, but that doesn't make him any less of a raging homosexual. Trust me. I'm a total beard, myself.

Oh, and hey, you, Fanilow. Barry's an adorable, funny-looking man who would rather get down with Tony than with Lola, even if her dress is cut down to there. So what? Doesn't make him any less cheesy/awesome.

Never underestimate the power of my gaydar. Speaking of which, I'm getting a strong signal coming from the direction of the Jonas Brothers...

I came by your post to see if any Fanilows had disavowed you of his homosexuality, and they didn't disappoint me. My oldest friend is a Fanilow and, like your friend in the comment above, I have a finely-tuned gaydar and assured her he was gay, but to no avail. (Not that you need a finely-tuned gaydar to see that a 60-something man with that hair and that jacket is gay.)

I don't know why they're all so passionately protective of his looks and his sexuality. I mean, what difference does it make to enjoying his music? But to your point, these middle-aged women who should know better insist he is "a stud muffin."

So thanks for your post and these comments. They made me smile.

I LOVE YOU FOR LOVING BARRY. I think I will go kiss my Barry statuette and make a wish.
